Producing the Business Case Documents

Once the Business Case is complete the next stage is to present it back to the Prospect in the form of professional documents that are formatted ready for presentation to the Board. Don’t forget, you will have added a great deal of value to the Prospect’s decision making process and it is important that this is not given away lightly!

Output Reports

a. Short Form Document - Use the Short Form Business Case for evidence of the potential Business Case justification. The Prospect may need this to canvass opinion from colleagues or other departments. The Short Form Business Case can be used as an executive summary with the Long Form version as an appendix in the main sales proposal.

b. Long Form Document - When you are sure that the information will not be divulged to a competitor, the full Long Form Business Case can be left with the Prospect. The Long Form Business Case has various formatting options that can be selected to enhance the document.

Cash Only Summary

This table appears in the Long Form Document and shows the total value of each benefit over the whole review period but does not take into account any other factors affecting the true value of the benefit (e.g. interest cost, time value). Hence, the Cash Only Summary of the total costs and benefits is complimentary to the ROI appraisal.
